Aboriginal Services
Integrative Counselling Services has extensive experience providing assessments, consultations, service provider training, and therapy for individuals, couples, and families of Aboriginal descent.
We have provided one-week workshops in Nunavuut (Igloolik and Sanikiloua), as well as in Labrador, and Ottawa (Tungasuwingat Inuit Center and the Wabano Aboriginal Health Centre). We continue to help many survivors of sexual abuse and residential schools.
Knowing the limited impact of single visit interventions, we believe it is important to develop long term relationships with specific communities. These relationships should involve face to face interactions, but can also be maintained through online consultations and counselling*.
Our experience and training in this area can be of great value to any Aboriginal communities seeking access to mental health services, especially ones in remote or rural locations. Please contact us directly to discuss how we may be able to work together.
*We have access to Inuit interpreters as needed.
